Dr. Cody Pyke joined Hayes Hunter PC as an Associate Attorney in 2023. Prior to joining the firm, Cody worked as an associate attorney at a law firm specializing in personal injury, medical malpractice, and employment litigation. Between completing law school and beginning her career as an attorney, she also worked as a legislative fellow in the Texas Senate during the 2021 regular legislative session. Cody brings a unique perspective to litigation due to her background as both an attorney and a medical doctor.
From 2015-2022, Cody simultaneously completed two doctoral degrees and two master’s degrees. She obtained her doctorate in medicine (M.D.) from Baylor College of Medicine, her Master of Science in Bioethics from Clarkson University, and both her juris doctorate (J.D.) and Master of Laws (LL.M.) specializing in health law from the University of Houston Law Center. Throughout law school, Cody competed in state, national, and international advocacy competitions in appellate advocacy and international arbitration. Based on her excellent performance in these legal advocacy competitions, Cody was inducted in the prestigious Order of Barristers in 2021.
Outside of the court room, Cody is highly active in multiple non-profit and professional organizations, including but not limited to the Health Law Section of the American Bar Association, the American College of Legal Medicine, the National Perinatal Association, and Houston’s own Doctors for Change.
